Qld Government Electricity Rebate 2023

Has anyone heard when and how Serenitas plan to pass on this year's "cost of living" electricity rebate? We recieved a letter last week from the Premier's office advising us of the distribution of this rebate to concession holders. It appears that Serenitas have received our money and have failed to distribute it as yet.

Correspondence and updates

After logging on to the Associations website I was surprised to see that the last posts made on this site was over a year ago. This is a resource which should be utilised to communication to its members " what's happening." Yet, it seems to have been somewhat neglected this year. Perhaps this is why members of the Association feel that many discussions and information are considered to be a closed book. I would like to encourage the incoming committee to keep their members informed and updated in relation to their representation of village issues on behalf of its members

The Homeowner’s Association has invited ARPQ to give a talk/information session as below this will be in the community centre: Saturday 28 May from 10am

ARPQ was awarded a contract by the Queensland State Government under the initiative entitled ‘Right Where You Live’. The initiative was born out of a realisation that there was a need for tailored educational opportunities for homeowners to understand the most recent amendments to the Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act 2003.

Member Update 09/04/22

Again, we cast our minds to the topic of Market Rent Reviews. These are an intrinsic part of our current legislation which provides they can occur every 3 years. The next is due in 2023, just around the corner and the last one isn’t finalised yet.

Now that we’ve all had the opportunity to read the Reasons document from QCAT, as much as the legal speak is confronting for most, there is some really valuable information that can be derived from it for the future. This will establish a base from which to work and whist it is not prescriptive it does guide future committees on what is required. You can view the document on our website or this URL https://archive.sclqld.org.au/qjudgment/2022/QCAT22-091.pdf

This is the valuable information I took from the document:

1. The QCAT Tribunal will not set a rental amount but will, based on the evidence…
